I’ve mentioned before how I like doing things by myself, but that I haven’t really been doing that so much lately. So while everyone was sleeping off hangovers Saturday afternoon, I made my way into Madrid for some exploring and photo taking. While the weather wasn’t the best, compared to the weather we’ve been having, it was still nice and when the wind died down, warm. While I was still an awkward duck while ordering a coffee and banging my knees and bag on everything (there’s no half way with me. I’m either cool as ice and just glide on in or else I’m tripping over everything and not in a cute, dorky way, either.), it was refreshing and something I’ll be putting more effort into doing more often. The Rival’s Stadium
I’d never been to a rival team’s stadium before. As a spectator, that is. It feels a little illicit, as if the stadium knows you’re not supposed to be there and is hissing in disapproval, trying to make you as uncomfortable as possible. Of course, this could just be me and I could just be overly sensitive to these things. But Melissa and I went to the Spain – Italy friendly last week, the match being held at the Vicente Calderón, the stadium of our city rivals, Atlético de Madrid.

Today was opening the mailbox and finding letters from my Grandma and my sister tucked safely inside, right on time for my birthday. It was watching Corner Gas and eating nachos with a friend I haven’t spent time with in what feels like forever. It was almost missing the bus but running the last block and catching it just as it was ready to pull away again and there’s something about getting on a bus that you really shouldn’t have made that just feels good. Found this store that sells Kinfolk in Madrid and wondering if any of you have other suggestions for magazines I should hunt down. I miss holding and reading magazines and would love to have something good to read!
