Saturday Wander Pt. II

Coloured buildings are some of my favourite things. Along with elaborate windows and interesting doors. I don’t ask for a lot. The great thing about Madrid, and Europe in general, really, is that there’s so much of it. You’d think after being here for over a year and a half, I’d get used to it but I’m not. Every time I go out and look up and see all of that, it makes me happy. It’s a really simple thing, I know, but it adds so much character and pop to catch your eye as you wander around.  Continue reading

Saturday Wander Pt. I

IMG_9917

I’ve mentioned before how I like doing things by myself, but that I haven’t really been doing that so much lately. So while everyone was sleeping off hangovers Saturday afternoon, I made my way into Madrid for some exploring and photo taking. While the weather wasn’t the best, compared to the weather we’ve been having, it was still nice and when the wind died down, warm. While I was still an awkward duck while ordering a coffee and banging my knees and bag on everything (there’s no half way with me. I’m also thisclose (six more!) to getting 300 followers and while I know it’s obviously not the biggest accomplishment on the internet, it still means something to me.

To celebrate, I’m going to round up a bunch of different things that this blog and I have been and done and seen, different numbers and ‘fun facts’. And here’s to whatever comes next! Continue reading

Sunset Boulevard

Over the weekend I ended up with an evening where everyone I knew was already busy and I didn’t want to spend the evening at the house. Which was when I realized that some of my photography equipment had started to gather dust and remembered someone telling me that the Temple of Debod is really nice to photograph at sunset. Which also sounds kind of touristy  and whatnot, but I figured it’d be nice to have some alone time with my camera and so packed my bag and headed out and enjoyed the sunset. Just me, my camera and a ridiculous amount of couples with their tongues’ down each other’s throats as they took selfies for their new profile pictures.  Continue reading

13 Moments from 2013

titleIt’s that time where we round things up, count things down, make new promises to ourselves and welcome the new year. Every Christmas my mom mails out one of those yearly round ups, a mini paragraph for each member of the family, and, I have to say, seeing my year through her eyes opened mine up a little bit. I have had what can only be described as an amazing year. It was everything 15 year old me could have wanted and so, so much more.   Continue reading
