I don’t remember eating a lot in Seville. Maybe because it was so hot or I just wasn’t hungry, but I only went to three restaurants while I was there. But the food I did eat. The food. I’ve already talked about how much I love salmorejo, right? (I have to have done so.) And Andalucia is the home of this dish, meaning it’s in every restaurant and it’s homemade. Heaven. Actual heaven. Continue reading
Good Things
Hear: Damien Rice. On constant repeat.
Taste: I made pumpkin bars. They were delicious. (Recipe)
Touch: Petting this handsome fellow.
See: Sunrises. You know it’s fall when you can roll out of bed at 08:30 and see the sun come up.
Smell: Fall. That crisp, smokey, fall smell. Different from the beach, sun baked smoke smell.
This post is part of a Daily Diaries link up.
Hello, Seville
Seville was a last minute decision. It was a, “Do I have enough money? Do I have enough energy?” trip that I took what felt like ages to decide on until the Wednesday before I was supposed to leave, I found myself walking up to the bus kiosk and asking for a one way ticket to Seville, which was then carefully tucked into my wallet. It was the last city on my ‘to visit in Spain’ list and I’m glad I went, even with my aching back and tired feet and heart already set on a course for home, there was still just enough left in me for one more trip and Seville, you did not disappoint.
There & Back Again: A Non-Hobbit Story of Coming Home to Canada
Oh, boy. It’s been a crazy, crazy month. And I still have to catch you all up on what happened before I left Spain (was that actually over a month ago?! How?). But, we have time and it will probably happen slowly as I try and figure out some sort of system for not making myself completely mental having a blog and a full time job. I know there’s loads of you out there who manage it, so I will as well, it’s just going to be a bit of a period of figuring out how that looks for me. For now, however, I’ll be providing a fairly short rundown of what happened coming home and what I’m up to now and then will, as I said, slooooowly (but not too slowly), backtrack to the rest, as well as a few other things I’ve been planning for awhile. Things I’ve Been Reading
I’m a bit behind with this post and it’s quite small compared to the other posts that I’ve done already, mostly because, as I’ll come to share with you at some point, things have been a bit of a roller coaster and I’m trying to get into some sort of rhythm. But there’s a few things I’ve read and hopefully you’ll find something that interests you! Let me know what you’ve been reading in the comments, whether it’s articles, books, magazines, etc.
