Such a Magical Word, Picnic

Last weekend  might as well have come from one of those cheesy, summer films.  A good kind of cheesy though, in the way that camembert on bread as an afternoon snack is good.  Between hot, hot days spent at the beach with picnics and late afternoon naps, I really can’t think of any other way I could have left France.

Fly By Week

This week went by so quickly! Blink and BAM! Hellooooo Mr. Friday. Between twisted and balloon sized ankles,  parents away for the weekend, trips to the pool and basketball court and a broken washing machine, boring has not exactly been the word of the week. 

All the Good Things

After on/off rain all day yesterday, followed by a few minutes of hail, we were rewarded with this amazing sight.

Well Spent Weekend

I ended up with a mini break this weekend, which resulted mostly because I kept oversleeping and they let me. Which was nice since I’m still not sleeping well, and while I’m glad that that’s the only form my stress is taking, it’s still rather annoying and I wish it would stop. But! I did end up with some time just for myself, and it was lovely and perfect and the sun was shining and so, naturally: everything I didn’t know I needed until it was there and I decided to take advantage of it.* 

Climb Up a Great Wall

This Wednesday we deviated a bit from our normal ‘stay cool in the morning, watching movies and spending the afternoon at the lake’ and instead went rock climbing! My HD actually surprised us with taking a day off and we met up with another dad and his three kids and….climbed rocks.
