Working On: Sailor

sailor1

So ages and ages and ages ago, back in January, I showed a mock up cover for Sailor. It’s been slow going since then, but I’ve finally gotten around to getting something put together. This isn’t everything that I’ve got so far, but it gives a bit of an idea as to what I’ve been up to the last few weeks.  The idea is to have pages planned out before I insert any writing, just to keep myself from getting too overwhelmed. I’m also not 100% sure how I feel about the circles going straight to the edges of the page vs. having a continuous border throughout the entire piece. That’s something I can always go back and edit and am trying very, very, very hard not to let myself get distracted by things like that and just. keep. moving.

In the three pages here, I’ve got bits and pieces of Chartres (first two) and then Belz/St. Cado.  The idea will be to write it out as half a guide, half personal essay/story writing. I’ve got some notes written out in a doc on my computer, but nothing’s written out in stone and, naturally, subject to change.  As I get pages finished and continue to add to the project, I’ll be sharing them here! Of course, I’ve only got a few days left in Madrid before I head off to Málaga for two months, so we’ll see how much I actually get done within the next few weeks, but the feeling of moving forward and working on something is really good, so here’s to getting things done!

Things I’m Loving:

+ Best Short Haircuts for Summer – (I’m tempted.)
+ These retro travel posters – (How cool would these look framed and hung up?)
+ THIS BLAZER – (A million times yes!)
+ These WC posters – (Why yes, I’d also hang those up.)

    • Thanks a lot! And I’m building it in Photoshop, which isn’t the easiest program to be doing something like this in, but I’m the most familiar with it and that’s helping some of the frustration a bit! 🙂
