Towels & Trowels: It’s Beach Time!

IMG_7078You guys remember that I like talking about the weather, right? It’s a thing I do and it’s probably under the ‘bad habit’ category, not quite as high as smoking but definitely up there with not picking up after yourself. BUT!

IMG_7081Me talking about the weather this time goes like this: Wednesday is dance day, and, for the first time, I ended up having to drive the girls to dance. Since I’d never done the trip before, one of the moms volunteered to do the ‘follow the leader’ deal. (I only fell behind once twice.)  Afterwards, because it was a lovely 34328402°C * outside, once we got to dance, she asked if we would be interested in going to the beach. Since I was the grown up of our little troupe, I made the slightly childlike excited decision and yes, we went to the beach.

My little Monsieur and I went to the grocery store and picked up cherry tomatoes, ham, smoked meat, a box of Kiri**, juice, water, chips and bananas. Oh, and a baguette that was almost the same height as him.

Since it was lovely and impromptu, we didn’t have bathing suits. But, this is France! We stripped the kids down (eventually everyone was just running around in their underwear) and there ended up being five families there, everyone running between the beach and the blankets, alternating between cold lake water and sun warm juice. IMG_7095

IMG_7098I’m really hoping this will be on our agenda most Wednesdays. The kids love it, I love it since it tires them out, it’s simple and easy and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it somewhere else.

* Obviously that is not what the temperature really was. I was exaggerating for dramatic effect.
** Kiri is delicious and I’m pretty sure I love it more than the kids do.

Things I’m Loving:

+ I’m ONE follower away from 100! So: grab your friends and have them join the fun!
+ About sunscreen – (According to my sunburn, I’m in need of a refresher course.)
+ About guidebooks – (In case you don’t know how to use them.)
+ About powerful friends – (This is late, but in case you missed it.)
+ About drinks – (They look so pretty and I want to drink them alllll!)

Amazing pictures! Guess families enjoy the beach all over the world, eh? We haven’t had our first trip out to Greenwater yet…hopefully soon. T’aime:-)
