The kids don’t go to school on Wednesdays. That will change for the oldest next year, when he starts going in the morning, but until then, it’s all four of us at home for the day, sleeping in and eating dry cereal from bowls as we read books and the boys play their video games, all of us in our pajamas.

It also means building forts and playing hide and go seek and afternoon naps. And having the napper crawl onto my bed once she’s awake and let me brush out and rebraid her hair before she scampers off to annoy her brothers once again.

(We’re actually getting better at the braids. She’s not a huge fan of sitting still, but now that she knows what they look like, she’s getting more willing. We did a Heidi-style braid this evening before dinner I want to try again. It almost makes up for the fact that I miss playing with my sister’s hair while we’re watching back episodes of our favourite shows after school.)

Things I’m Loving:

+ This quote (I’ve been forgetting that, lately.)

+ These self portraits (Because the person doesn’t always have to be the center of the photo)

+ Ed Sheeran’s album (The A Team and Small Bump have been on constant repeat)

+ The Offside Rules (because more football based websites is exactly what I need)
