A day as lovely and end-of-summer-y as this one was deserves it’s own playlist.
Yesterday afternoon we spent the day out at the lake. Water skiing and wake boarding and food and ping pong and feet in the grass. One of the last few days before summer says its final goodbyes and fall comes in with its cool air and the need for sweaters and steaming mugs to wrap hands around. (Today is one of those days. I’ve traded my t-shirt in for a sweater and shorts for pants.)
This afternoon, I think, will be a different sort. Between getting to know my new family and trying to find some sort of normalcy with sleeping, I haven’t had a lot of time to spend wandering around my new hometown. So, I think that’s the plan for this afternoon. Start on one corner, pick a direction and walk for a bit. (I’ll take a map, don’t worry. Otherwise I might never find my way back. I’m the family joke when it comes to knowing how to get somewhere. It is almost a little sad.)
If you don’t hear from me for awhile, just assume that, even with a map, I couldn’t find my way back.
